Slice of life

Last night, I was emptying our camera to make sure we have plenty of room to take some videos of Owen's upcoming play.  I fell in love with this little show.  It shows so many truths of our daily lives:  1) Molly has the cutest little voice and is experimenting with all sorts of new words.  2) We've almost given up on making her sit down on the kitchen chairs (she tirelessly gets on them).  We're focusing, instead, on teaching her to safely get down and showing her that the table top is off-limits:-)  3)  She holds a pencil correctly!  4)  The boys love playing Legos...this game involves a shield generator, Ewoks and a big battle.  5)  Owen still hums when he plays.

May cuteness!

Recipe for the perfect spring evening:  sunshine and dandelions.
When we ask Molly to show us the "cutest face in the world", she does this!  Love her 8 little teeth:-)
The little ones, enjoying some drinks after naptime.
 Owen loves reading!

LEGO Kids Fest

Josh took Owen and Wyatt to LEGO Kids Fest in Denver last weekend.  It was 4 hours of Lego dreams come true for the boys.  They went with our friend John and his kids, Maxwell and Finn.  The boys had so much fun together!  Here are some of the highlights.  When Owen saw this picture, he said "This picture is so cool it should be the cover of a movie or something!"

There were lots of picture opportunities in front of life-sized Lego replicas.

Owen modeling something he built with only light green Legos.
There was a huge outline of the United States.  Kids could build things and put them in the state of their choice.  Owen built a tornado and put it in Oklahoma.  Wyatt built an eyeball and also put it in Oklahoma!!
The Hobgood boys on an adventure!
The four musketeers (Owen - 6, Wyatt - 3, Maxwell - almost 7, Finn - 3), with Darth Vader.  Wyatt has been wearing this hat, sunglasses, and pumpkin necklace get-up for several days...
Wyatt, otherwise known as Jello, the Big Boy Pumpkin, with SpongeBob.
All the kiddos are hard at work...

Easter 2012

I never posted Easter pictures!  The kids loved, loved, loved searching for eggs this year.  Owen was so good about saving some eggs for Wyatt and Molly to find, so everyone had a blast filling their baskets.

Has there ever been a sweeter face?

Owen is doing his new favorite pose!
The Easter Bunny brought camp chairs, sleeping bags for the boys, and a big ball for Molly.  I think he knew that we were getting ready for summer!

Almost all of our tulips were in bloom on Easter morning.  We enjoyed them while hiding eggs in the backayard.
We also had a hot air ballon fly right over our house on Easter morning.  It must have landed less than a mile away, it was so close.  We could see the passengers and hear the fire really loudly.  The kids thought it was awesome (and so did the adults!).

Spring Break!

This was the most gorgeous Spring Break that we've had in a long, long time.  We stayed in Colorado, but had a very busy week with lots of adventures.  Some of them were not captured on film, like taking the boys to the climbing gym, watching "The Empire Strikes Back" and going to the Lego Store after Owen's endocrinologist appointment in Denver.  However, we had days and days of fun outside and have lots of pictures to show for it!

This is our first Friday evening of Spring Break.  We had already played at the playground after school with friends, but the kids were not ready to stop being outside!

They have on bathing suits and are playing with water!  In March!!

Playing bubbles with Josh...Wyatt is becoming quite the fast runner!

We had rock, topsoil and wood chips delivered for various backyard projects, including some awesome raised wicking beds, which should really help us keep our garden going without using tons of water.  Molly preferred wheelbarrow rides to yard work!

Josh took the kids fishing at a neigborhood lake and they caught a 17 inch trout.  We grilled it for dinner!

We spent a couple days in Denver and the highlight was the Denver Children's Museum.  We had never been before.  It's amazing!  Owen loved it the most.  I think he could have stayed there for weeks.
Thankfully, they really had lots of activities for all ages, so Molly and Wyatt had alot of fun, too.

There was a giant tree, with several tunnels running below it.  This was DEFINITELY Owen's favorite part.  He could not contain his enthusiasm and would NOT stay still for a picture.  Wyatt was pretty nervous about the tunnels, but he liked climbing up the branches.

 Family pictures outside the Museum...

There was even a room for kids ages 0 - 3, which both Molly and Wyatt enjoyed.  Molly adored this little bridge.  She practiced going up and down the ramp and stairs for more than 30 minutes.

On Deck

Now that we're back to the reality of springtime in Colorado (cold, windy, threatening rain/snow), I wanted to look back on the nice days that we've had the last few weeks.  While I takea few more days to go through spring break pictures and videos, here's a little show that I took after school one day to remind us of spring.
