2012 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes

The 2012 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes was a success!  We were joined by 10 kids and 15 adults.  It was such an amazing turnout!  We are so very, very blessed that so many people love and support Owen and our family as we live with Type 1 diabetes.

It's very hard to take a team picture with so many kids and adults involved, especially since there were so many fun things to do.  But we got a picture of almost all of the the kids!

From left to right:  Amelia, Owen, Maxwell, Finn, Aiden, Wyatt, Lauren, Sam, Molly, Aubre.
Not pictured: Claire, who did not want to be in the picture, and Cavan, who was asleep in a stroller.

Owen and Wyatt were so excited to meet some stromtroopers, hold their guns, and get some trading cards.

Here are some Star Wars characters near Owen's sign at the beginning of the walk!

The kids could pet snakes, lizards, and ride tortoises!

We started the walk pretty late, to let the crowd clear out a little bit.  When Molly decided to walk, we probably became the last people on the trail!  Molly walked half-way...over 1.5 miles!

After the walk and lunch, the kids ran around in the park for awhile.  Aiden even had the boys doing push-ups and sit-ups at one point!  I love this picture of that time.  Aubre and Lauren were trying to climb a tree and Molly went in for some hugs.

It was a wonderful day.  Thanks for everyone who made it so special!
