Molly is 4 months old....

Molly is 4 months old now.  We had quite the busy month with Miss Molly...at the very end of March, she was diagnosed with RSV and a double ear infection.  She was on oxygen for 5 days at home and her cold continued for about 2 weeks after she was off oxygen.  Combined with the earlier ear infection, she was sick about 1 1/2 months.  She's MUCH better now and we've started to reestablish some routines with her.  She has learned to roll from her back to her stomach and grasps at anything that is hanging in front of her.  She loves playing on the floor or in her Bumbo chair.  She recently started screaming as a form of talking, so while we chat over dinner, she usually sits in her chair, screaming along with the conversation.  Here she is talking and having fun...
The boys are very sweet and attentive with Molly.  Owen is really a great help and sometimes keeps her entertained while I do things around the house.
Molly is usually pretty content to play on her blanket...

I know this picture is not Molly-related, but it's too cute to ignore.  Owen is being a creature from Star Wars and Wyatt is just having fun!
 Here's a little video update of Molly's 4th month....

Our Favorite Octopus

Owen started playing soccer this spring.  His team is the "Octopus."  He is really enjoying himself.  He's not particularly aggressive on the field, but he LOVES all the running.  He has played 3 games so far, and we have 2 more to go until the end of the season.
Last Saturday, Owen played goalie for the first time.  Thanks to Shep for all the great action shots...including this cool airplane/Owen picture!
Owen would rather run around on the field than tend the goal, though...

This is our favorite....the look on his face completely captures the essence of Owen.

Wyatt and Molly enjoy the games, too....as long as the wind isn't too crazy!

Molly is 3 months old...

Molly is 3 months old today.  It's been a busy month...Molly started emerging from the newborn stage just in time to get her first ear infection.  Yuck!  But, she's feeling better now and is becoming her happy little self again.  We recently moved her into her own room (the boys are now sharing a room, which is proving to be quite the learning experience for both of them).  Here she is enjoying her mobile in her crib.
She has also been able to start sitting up in the Bumbo for short periods of time.
Owen and Wyatt both like to hold her.  I love this picture because of the identical eyes!
And it's probably pretty obvious why I love this picture...sweet babies!
Molly's biggest milestone this month is that she started rolling over from stomach to back.  She did this for several days and then got really sick and stopped tolerating things like playing on a blanket.  Now that she's a happy girl again, we might start seeing some more rolling.  Who knows?  It sure was cute while it lasted, though...enjoy!

Happy 5th Birthday, Owen!

Our sweet Owen turned 5 on March 14th.  This year, we celebrated in style with a Star Wars party.  The fun started with a pin-the-light-saber-on-Yoda game.  Josh drew an amazing Yoda and we made light sabers out of cardboard and green butcher paper.
Next up...cupcakes!  We made chocolate cupcakes with whipped cream frosting and decorated them with Star Wars cake toppers that Owen and I made.  Each little boy was pretty excited to find out which character they were going to have on their cupcake.

After the treats, we made a little scavenger hunt for the kids to find their party favor bags.  The bags contained a CD of Star Wars theme music and a little glow stick.  Then, the kids took their bags out to the garage to collect treats from the Death Star pinata, which was hand-crafted by Josh.  Look at Owen's face in the picture below (you can click on it to make it larger)...you can see how completely excited he was!

Finally, we went inside to open presents.  Here, Owen is modeling his new Star Wars lunch bag.  You can see that he's still flushed from the pinata!

A video of a few birthday highlights:  I love how excited all the kids get after Josh reads the clue on the scavenger hunt.  We didn't get much in the way of pinata video because my camera's memory was full, but we shared the little that we had.  The kids got ALOT more aggressive after Owen's first try (you can probably tell that from the picture of Owen).  The opening presents video was on his actual birthday, with just our little family of 5...Owen was pretty excited about his Nerf gun!

Family Time

We recently had visitors, all coming to meet Molly for the first time.  Lauren and Jerod came from Oklahoma for a long weekend.  Lauren fulfilled her aunt duties by cuddling with Molly non-stop.
The following weekend, Ben, Brenda, Amelia and Cavan came down from Bailey.  Owen and Amelia had fun at the "kids table".
Ben and Josh spent ALOT of time crafting guns for Owen out of Trios.  It looks like a Trio box exploded in our living room!!
One day was even nice enough for the kids to ride bikes outside.  We can't wait for spring!!

Molly is 2 months old...

Molly is 2 months today.  She is 11 lbs and is super strong.  She has great head control and just started batting at objects that are hanging above her.  She loves to laugh and smile, especially at Owen (he's really great with her).  She's still a great night sleeper, thank goodness, but usually prefers to nap snuggled in the sling or in the baby swing.

Even though Molly has been smiling for about a month, we haven't caught any of her cute grins on film until now....
Here Molly is helping me show off my new hairdo.  I cut off 12 inches and donated it to Locks of Love!  This was a big step for a girl who's pretty much had the same hair style since age 2.

Molly is 1 month old...

Molly is 1 month old now and weighs 9 lbs, 1 oz and is 20 1/2 inches.  She started smiling right before she turned 1 month, which is a great reward for us!  She is also an amazing night sleeper...she regularly goes a 6 hour stretch between feedings!  She's a sweet little thing, with super crazy hair...

And for your viewing pleasure...a short video of Miss Molly in action.
